Overview: The Small Business Bureau (SBB) is a semi-autonomous agency established under the Ministry of Tourism, Industry & Commerce based on the Small Business Act of 2004. Since becoming operational in 2013, the SBB has been instrumental in supporting small businesses through various programs, including the Micro and Small Enterprise Development (MSED) Programme.
Services Offered:
- Grants: Up to GYD $500,000 for small business development.
- Loans: Collateral guarantee loans with a 6% interest rate, up to GYD $30,000,000.
- Business Incubator Centres: Support new businesses with resources and mentorship in Belvedere and Lethem.
- Entrepreneurship Awareness Sessions: Monthly sessions to educate potential entrepreneurs.
- Business Support: Administrative and developmental resources to ensure business success.
- Regional Help Desks: Assistance is available in various administrative regions to provide localized support.
Eligibility and Requirements:
- Registration Process:
- Complete the SBB Registration Form
- Submit required documents including National ID, GRA TIN Certificate, GRA Compliance Certificate, NIS Document, and Business Registration
- Restrictions: Employees of government-affiliated organizations are ineligible for grants but can apply for loans.
